Hi! I’m Harry Schneider and I am a sophomore. I am currently studying music production, fashion, design, technology and the intersection between all of these fields.

This is my example of effective communication design. I feel that the design of this poster is very eye catching despite benign very minimal. Also there is little description of the event on this poster, the image and format really draw in the viewer and it encourages you look closer. In addition the QR code is very minimal and the white writing on opposing corners give the poster balance. I also love thy bold typography and the simplicity of the word “Yves” on the top left corner. This poster also uses thick and sturdy paper with a sort of glossy finish which makes it seem very premium. Also the image of Yves is covering the entire surface, which compared to other poster of this size, draws even more attention.

This is my example of ineffective communication design. For starters the text is too small which makes it illegible at a glance from a distance. Also the use of the same QR code multiple times is unnecessary since the whole purpose is of a QR code is to follow up and get more information digitally instead of using paper. Despite this, if the intention was to create something that the viewer could rip off, the choice of material (flimsy printer paper) and poor construction makes it difficult to do so which, you can see on the top center of the poster, that it was already ripped off the wall.
