You have missed the point.
I am arguing that people should not strive for happiness. There is a time for happiness. If you believe happiness is the focal point of life, you trivialise your experiences. Each situation in life requires a different approach — aggression, pain etc. Because if you believe happiness to be the purpose of life, you will feel ashamed of yourself, even believe yourself a failure once you experience suffering. The constant focus on happiness makes people resentful and frustrated. If you cannot justify your suffering or answer the deepest questions to life, your life is shallow and meaningless.
This state of being is necessary for a world like Brave New World to come to fruition. I am arguing against this — not about what is happiness or what it is not.
