Dunkirk Reaction :

The first time you hear a gunshot in Dunkirk , you’re alarmed and afraid . And from there starts a 100 minute VR experience ( without the headset ) which will scare you tremendously.

When the soldiers are stranded on that beach and the fighter planes roar through the air , killing hundreds of people . You feel threatened .

Let me clear the air by saying that there is no protagonist as such in the film . And many people might disagree , but Nolan has brilliantly designed the movie so that you feel stranded with the soliders on that beach . And the presence of a clear protagonist might not have let that happen.

The movie is also wonderfully shot. The compositions and colors are spectacular. The visuals take you right amidst the action. The cinematography and sound design are both breath- taking.

You feel the plight , the angst and the terror . You also feel hope , and happiness . I agree there is little of character development but the movie isn’t about that . It’s just about the situation . You root for the characters to go home .

The Nolan brothers are known for their ability to tell stories well. And i think they’ve achieved what they wanted to. (With a PG13 rated War movie)

Dunkirk is unlike anything that I’ve ever seen .

Go see it in IMAX

You’ll feel at war .
