“No act of kindness, no matter how small, is ever wasted.”– Aesop

If you want to spread good vibes & compassion to the people in your life, then Practice kindness every day. Make it a habit, not just an act for a moment or a day.

As a super fellow of Amal Academy, we have to do 5 random acts of kindness, the time limit for the five tasks was 24 hours. It was a tremendous experience for me to see the happiness and joy on the unfamiliar faces. Below is the list of acts I did during the whole day:

Talking to the security guard — I sat with the security guard of my society and talked with him about his life , his whereabouts and listened to his stories for half an hour. After that he was so happy that I spend sometime with him and thanked me. I also invited him to have lunch with me.

Do your little bit of good where you are; it’s those little bits of good put together that overwhelm the world.

Giving clothes to the needy one — I gave my house cleaning maid half a dozen shirts and trousers for her husband so that he can wear them. I have learned this act from my elders to share not the old clothes but new ones as well with the person in need. Her reaction was just out of the box she had tears in her eyes and I feel so much special and made a promise to myself to donate clothes each month with someone who is in true need.

Talking to an old friend — Today I called my old friend and had a really good talk with him. He was really excited to talk about our old memories which made me feel wonderful.

Helping a junior in university— After finishing my classes, I was going to cafe to meet my friends. On my way there, I met a junior and gave him advice for which he thanked me. I also gave him my notes of previous semesters.

Smiling at a stranger — I was just having a stroll around the park in the evening when I smiled at a stranger and he smiled and waved back at me. I thought how easy it is to change the state of a person even without knowing him. I was amazed at the discovery that what we give, we get back in life.

After doing all this, I decided to at least perform 5 acts of kindness on a daily basis to get satisfaction and spread positivity within the community.
