Introduction to the AMAL Journey:

If you want to know about how I continued my AMAL journey after initially deciding to quit on the very first day, then stick around. I’ll share with you what keeps me motivated and how I completed this fellowship despite having a busy personal and professional life.

The journey began in November when I finished one of my mid-term exams at Punjab University. As I left my classroom, a Pathan guy, whose name I don’t remember, approached me and started talking about the AMAL fellowship, I had never heard about it before. Then, another Pathan who was my friend and class fellow joined the conversation, and they began speaking in Pashto, leaving me alone. After a few minutes, I wanted to leave because I didn’t understand what they were discussing, but my friend asked me to provide my email address. Reluctantly, I agreed as he assured me that he would share more details with me later on.

After providing my email, I started receiving emails from AMAL Academy on the same day. However, I kept ignoring them and even thought about how to stop them altogether. I asked my roommate how to block emails from AMAL Academy. When I mentioned “AMAL Academy,” my roommate immediately encouraged me to join, saying it was a valuable platform where I could learn a lot and also receive many gifts. Despite this enthusiasm, I hadn’t received any gifts except for the first day’s Dairy Milk chocolate. I was eager to receive more gifts, as that was one of the motivations for joining AMAL.

Getting Started with AMAL:

And so, the story unfolds. Just 15 minutes before the deadline, I hurriedly filled out the form, went through the interview process, and miraculously got selected. The most challenging part for me was joining AMAL without my friend who had initially pushed me to join. Unfortunately, he couldn’t make it to the final interview due to some technical issues.

Challenges and Motivation:

I wanted to leave AMAL because my friend didn’t join, and I was busy with my home tutoring and freelancing work. I talked to Ma’am Kanza about it, and she encouraged me not to miss this opportunity. The best part of the journey was when she praised me in front of the whole class on the first day for joining despite facing many challenges. Her encouragement meant a lot to me, and it’s something I’ll always remember. It was the thing that kept me motivated throughout the fellowship.

Now, I’m so connected with my classmates that I don’t want to leave, despite the challenges, because of the amazing friends and teachers I’ve found here. After that, enjoying time with fantastic friends like Munsif, Rashid, Ali, Shafiq, and everyone else after each session kept me motivated throughout this journey. Additionally, other classmates like Samra, Niha, Mahnoor, Ayesha, and others also helped me with my tasks, which was encouraging.

TEAMWORK:

At AMAL, I’ve learned a lot of things, but the experience of working in teams with different people multiple times was truly unique. Collaborating with individuals who have diverse mindsets and abilities was not only enjoyable but also incredibly educational. I had a great time working with my teammates on the Mega Project, and I also thoroughly enjoyed the session activities with various members.

Impact of the Fellowship:

When reflecting on the impact of this fellowship on me, I believe three major points stand out. Firstly, the requirement to attend on weekends has helped me overcome my laziness and manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Secondly, it has expanded my way of thinking and acting, broadening my perspectives. What I cherish the most is the supportive environment, where everyone is friendly and supportive, without any negative competition. Lastly, this fellowship has provided me with an opportunity for self-improvement, where I invested my time and resources only for personal growth rather than solely focusing on grades or financial gains.

Appreciating the Experience:

The way people reacted and interacted with each other throughout the journey was truly amazing, and I enjoyed it immensely. Although I don’t want this fellowship to end, I understand that it’s beyond my control. However, I am extremely happy and grateful to be part of this wonderful and caring AMAL family. These three months have been the best time of my life, and I cherish every moment. I feel immensely grateful for the opportunity to be part of this fellowship, and I highly recommend it to others as well. Lastly, thanks to each and every person for making this journey memorable.

Thanks for reading till the last.
