We cannot wait five generations
The Arab World is going through a demographic boom, with an overwhelming number of young people landing on the job market every year. Some are smart or well-connected enough to find a job, some wait for years, and some take to the sea (note: these options are not mutually exclusive). In addition to the urgent economic and political reforms, education needs to be fully reshaped. This might take decades. How can we protect this new generation from the dogmatism and radicalism that have prevailed for the past twenty or thirty years? how can we quickly teach critical thinking?
