Why is there so much vitriol towards this anonymous author?
If he is who he says he is, can we at least afford him the respect for being proactive in creating dialogue about very real issues (that he actually lives / experiences, mind you), after finding a computer and then finding this original piece?
I am especially referring to Penny White below; her response is an obvious projection of her own self-hate.
What I think the author is trying to convey is that every human has a right to dignity, to self-defense, to be respected as a sentient being capable of exerting actions to defend their bodies, souls, and beliefs if needed. The word “threat” is a digestible simplification of what I think he’s trying to say. We have a choice in how we interpret the word “threat.”
I have never lived the homeless lifestyle, and therefore, will never fully understand its nuances and sufferings. I have no place to speak for or against it. I just respect those who do live in a certain marginalized lifestyle, whether by choice or force, and are willing to create and foster dialogue to try and do something about it.
