A LOOK AT VIOLENT EXTREMISM.

Violent extremism is the whole activities and beliefs of individuals and groups who employ violence and Terri related acts to achieve political, religious, social, cultural and economic aims.

CVE refers to all practice measures put in place to combat the efforts of violent extremist groups in the society.

The aim of CVE is to put an end to the process of radicalizing, recruiting and mobilising people most especially youths for violence and Terri related acts towards building and empowering communities and build their resilience to extremism. The youths as a result of violent extremism has been denied access to education, economic opportunities and employment.

CAUSES OF VIOLENT EXTREMISM

These includes but not limited to religious distortions, poverty, unemployment, reckless conflict handling methods etc.

IMPACTS OF VIOLENT EXTREMISM

It undermines peace and security, it undermines the achievement of sustainable development goals as it reverses all progress made so far. Also, it undermines rule of law and human rights.

One of the powerful tool that can effectively counter violent extremism outside of the battle field is the provision and access to education as it has been identified as one of the major solution to the proliferation of violent extremism ideologies.
