Oh. My. God. Nothing irks me more than this. I even have to catch myself when I make similar comments.

Armchair warriors are such a pet peeve of mine! I remember watching that Ronda Rousey v Holly Holm upset and my god, EVERYONE, no matter their athletic abilities, had a damn opinion.

“Why did she think she could go against a pro boxer?!”
Um I don’t know, maybe because she had won EVERY match in her professional MMA career at that point, won the last match via KO, and also the UFC pairs up the matches. It’s not like she had a choice. Did she make glaring mistakes? Sure, but I just did NOT understand the sentiment above. What is the alternative? Backing out? People seemed to quickly forget that almost nobody believed Holm would beat her. It was one of the biggest upsets for a reason.

“She should have blocked the punches and punched back!”
Naw, you think?! People don’t understand the adrenaline in a competitive match and how to can cloud your perception. Also, getting punched in the face when you’re not used to it kinda disorients you.

“All she needed to do was x!”
Oh, because it’s just so easy, right? Lol Ridiculous. I can respect these comments from people who know what they’re talking about but ugh, it just annoys me so much to hear it from people who don’t do anything athletic at all.

I don’t even believe everyone should be into fitness or anything, but please recognize it!

Okay off my soapbox! You got me started! Haha
