My Dear Young Authors | Practical Advice When Your Writing Career Is Going Nowhere
Maybe you are freshly graduated or are completely new to this writing world. Most chances are that you are confused — What to do? Where to start?
Wish that the world could just work in a straightforward way but it doesn’t.
You’ll climb and then fall again. You’ll realize that everything you’ve been doing for so many months is just wrong. Should have done the opposite way?
While starting your journey, you’ll (maybe)-
- Be looked down by the people around you
- Have financial debt
- Have relationship problems
- Have health issues
- Want to just skip writing and take up some job that can pay you well.
I can list so many things that I have personally seen in the last 10 years.
You’ll cry. You’ll feel like an idiot. Because you are alone in this journey. Very few support a young artist. Very Few. Rest are there, waiting in queue to criticize you. In meantime, you’ll find the ones who will support you as well.
If you stop, then say goodbye to this writing career. One break is all it takes.
THEY say, the authors have to grind.
Nope. Authors just have to do what they LIKE to do.
Without any judgment.
Without people pulling them in all directions with their advice which they themselves will never follow
I don’t believe in becoming MILLIONAIRE.
I believe in having ALL-ROUND PROGRESS for all authors.
Health. Money. … and peace of mind.
Develop yourself in such a way that…whatever happens, you’ll survive.
I cannot end this article without giving you some practice advice drawn from my own life. Try this when you are seeing no results in your writing career.
- Pick one genre. Pulling yourself in all directions will lead to no good result.
- Stick to one social media for 45 days. And see the difference in your followers after the end of the period.
- Don’t talk about your book until you finish it. That’s the no. 1 secret.
I’ll end this here. I don’t want you to be sitting in your room, just trying to make money. The world is big and I want you to get out once you’ve finished your work.
Remember, everything is bound to change one day.
