Design 102 “Light Filter”

“For me light is for space, the experience of architecture, the overlapping perspectives: it is the equivalent of what sound is for music.”
-Steven Holl

This project requires an architectural proposition for two occupants, in the courtyard of Higgins Hall designed by Steven Holl. My aim is to create a occupiable “light filter” in front of east and south facades of Higgins Hall, in order to amplify the light & shadow relationship on the original facade, while also meeting the program requirements for my occupants “passive hoarder” and “restless explorer”.
