HeartBeam at Cleveland Clinic
We’re a finalist at the Innovation Summit!
The HeartBeam team was an active participant at the recently held 2019 Cleveland Clinic Innovation Summit. Our pitch was very well-received and we were rewarded by being chosen a finalist. Following our presentation, we were approached by a number of investors and potential strategic partners and these discussions are in progress at this time. We also met with the leading Cleveland Clinic cardiologist who expressed a high degree of enthusiasm for our technology, as well as an interest in leading our next study. Last but not least, our CEO gave two interviews to online cardiovascular/mHealth publications.
What were the key topics and trends that surfaced at the Conference? Applications of artificial intelligence (AI) to medicine and tele-health were two dominant groups of topics.

Artificial Intelligence is touching all branches of healthcare practice but has seen its greatest adoption and success in the imaging world. There is virtually no aspect of healthcare that will not see changes driven by the application of AI.
As AI rapidly gains new functions, issues of how to establish accuracy, efficacy, and ethical protocols are still subject to often diverging opinions. There are many AI topics, but perhaps the most interesting and impactful are centered around how to strike the delicate balance between artificial and human intelligence. Medicine is entering a new chapter and AI will make a big difference. Finally, there is no quality AI without quality data. The information-rich data set that HeartBeam’s technology will collect, while saving lives and healthcare dollars, will be the basis for much needed AI-based cardiovascular disease prevention/prediction.
“Virtual care” has achieved significant growth over the past decade and is generally regarded as one of the most disruptive trends in healthcare. The role of “tele-health” is increasing as it provides previously unavailable models of diagnostics and healthcare accessibility. Patients now play an active role in their health. The cost savings offered by various virtual care models are substantial. In this new age of care, increased customization as well as accessibility and transparency are not only preferred, but expected. Partnerships between technology and provider systems are key for accelerated advancement in this area. Innovative technologies and virtual care models ultimately will be leveraged to better align payers, providers and patients. Our technology - the iCardiologist™- fits perfectly into these tele-health trends.
