App Passwords are one way Google helps you keep your account secure when accessing non-Google apps or services that don’t support two-step verification. Essentially, instead of using your regular Google Account password, you generate a unique, one-time password (an App Password) that allows that specific app or service to access your Google Account securely.

This feature is particularly useful for apps or devices that don’t support the more secure two-step verification process directly. With App Passwords, you can provide access to your Google Account without exposing your actual account password.

  1. Go to your google account where you want to create app pasword.

2. Click on your profile picture and select Manage your Google Account from the drop-down menu.

3. Select security from the menu on the left. Make sure 2-step verification is active. Select 2-step verification.

4. Select App passwords at the bottom of the page.

5. Create a new app password.

6. App password is ready to use.
