Crap, I broke the paddle. I manage to hold onto the two pieces and somehow get myself to the shore of the river. It’s going to be a little tough to figure out how to repair it. I have several other things in my backpack to help me resolve this problem. However, I’m not sure which one to use. I could use the rope: it will reattach the two pieces but it doesn’t seem to get the two pieces close enough to efficiently use the paddle. I could use scotch tape: it will keep the two pieces together but when I try to use the paddle, it will break again. I think I’m going to try duct tape. Digging into my backpack, I pull out two colors of duct tape— one is red and one is brown. While the red does the job, it’s a little too glaring to the eye. I try the brown, and it seems to work quite well. I sigh and stand up. Time to keep paddling….
I understand functions at the most basic level and can follow along as they become more complex but generating and applying the knowledge when asked is the challenge. Homework and more homework and practice and more practice is the only thing that is going to help me now. I better start because the weekend is only so long.
