Lucha Libre is one of the most popular styles of wrestling and is often associated with superstars wearing masks. Masks are considered sacred in Lucha culture, and a luchador losing his mask is a major moment for his career. WWE currently has several masked superstars in the company, with each having its own unique masks. There are several other superstars all around the world with fantastic masks on their faces, and we list out ten such cool looks.

Jushin Thunder Liger

One of the revolutionary luchadors, Jushin Thunder Liger had a long and storied career throughout several promotions. Thunder Liger’s gimmick was based on an anime series, and he enjoyed great success in the junior heavyweight division of NJPW.

His iconic attire stayed with him for several years, with his Power Ranger-Esque look becoming widely popular.

Rey Mysterio

Rey Mysterio was everyone’s favorite superstar in the 2000s. Mysterio was the first luchador to achieve tremendous success in WWE and became the greatest ‘small man’ to step foot in a WWE ring. His iconic mask with the cross on top is well-known among the wrestling fanbase. Mysterio has often changed around his masks, but the one with the cross on top remains widely popular.

Pentagon Jr.

Pentagon Jr. has the best attire in wrestling currently, and the current AEW star has received tremendous praise for his choice of deadly looking masks. Pentagon has achieved great success throughout several promotions and is currently working with brother Fenix Jr. as Lucha Bros in AEW. Pentagon’s haunting attire worked really well in Lucha Underground, where he was known as Pentagon Dark.

Psicosis

Psicosis had a really cool look with his horned masks, but he never got to wear it in WWE. He has achieved tremendous success across several Mexican promotions and WCW, but couldn’t replicate his success in WWE. He was massively misused in WWE, as the company failed to give him, Super Crazy and Juventud Guevara proper booking in their short stint with the company.

Kane

Kane became one of the biggest names in wrestling, after making a fantastic debut during Undertaker’s Hell in a Cell matchup. The character’s gimmick stood out with the fans, as he had to wear a mask to hide burn scars. Undertaker in kayfabe set a fire, which burnt Kane’s face, which led to him wearing a mask. The story behind Kane’s mask is one of the best kayfabe storytelling that the company has done, as there are people who still believe that Undertaker and Kane are real brothers.

The Great Muta

The Great Muta is one of the characters of Japanese legend Keiji Mutoh. Mutoh wrestled as The Great Muta, a mysterious character, in NWA and in the final days of WCW. Great Muta also wrestled in TNA at the end of his career. Great Muta initially had a face paint which was replaced by a wonderful mask.

La Parka

L.A. Parka became a really popular name in the late 90s, during his stint with the World Championship Wrestling. He went on to wrestle for several other promotions such as AAA, CMLL and is currently working at the age of 55 in Major League Wrestling. His skeleton-looking figure and comedic gimmick won over fans throughout the world, and his look still remains popular among wrestling loyalists.

Bushi

Bushi is a really popular name among NJPW loyalists, who have commended his variety of masks over the years. Bushi doesn’t have just one great mask, but several of them in his cupboard and has dazzled the fans with a new one each time. He has also wrestled for Mexican promotion CMLL in his career and has won several titles in NJPW.

Drago

Drago is another superstar with a horned mask in his attire, which makes his appearance stand out in the crowd. He has wrestled for several promotions in his career including Lucha Underground, Impact and PWG/

Ultimo Dragon

Japanese wrestler Ultimo Dragon had a great run with WCW and a short stint with WWE before moving back to Japan in 2004. Ultimo Dragon’s mask which extends to his shoulders was a unique look that became popular among the fans.
