William Blake’s “The Wandering moon” has greatly impressed me recently. In it we can see a man that seems startled by a personified moon in a body of a young girl wander about the night skies.

I find this painting very charming and mysterious. In my opinion, cold light colors make the painting feel magical, like there’s a sparkling or shining around the moon and the woman that represents it. Also these colors make a viewer feel that cold night’s temperature and give a feel of a fog, so I can say that I almost feel this painting physically.

Personally, I love symbolic paintings, especially if they’re magical and/or mystical. The symbol of the Moon is one of my favorites: the satellite itself is very mysterious, however, the symbolism it beard in art is very mystical and beautiful.
