It’s not at all unusual for a presidential candidate or a sitting member of congress to meet with ambassadors, even Russian ambassadors. Heck, Obama spoke with the president of Russia before his inauguration.
During his campaign, (and this list is by no means complete) Mr Obama publicly visited Afghanistan and Iraq, met with King Abdullah II of Jordan, Israeli leaders President Shimon Peres, Prime Minister Ehud Olmert, Defense Minister Ehud Barak, Foreign Minister Tzipi Livni and Likud Party leader Benjamin Netanyahu; and Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas and Prime Minister Salaam Fayad. He also met with German Chancellor Angela Merkel, British Prime Minister Gordon Brown and Conservative Party Leader David Cameron as well as French President Nicolas Sarkozy. During the transition and before he was sworn in Obama also spoke with Polish President Lech Kaczyński and Russian President Dmitry Medvedev. Let’s also not forget that Mr Obama also found any assertion that the Russians interfered with US elections laughable, and was aware of the Russian hack of Podesta and the DNC back in June. And don’t forget Hillary;
I know you guys hate Trump being in office, but your hysterical efforts to delegitimize him are making you look worse. And frankly, it’s pretty hard to look worse than Mr Trump.
