No matter what we owed Iran, converting US dollar to euro cash and putting it in the hands of a regime even the Obama administration itself says is a state sponsor of terrorism was beyond stupid. You can sayy all day the two incidents are unrelated, but delivering hundreds of millions in cash the same day Iran releases prisoners, and Iran claims we paid a ransom gave them a propaganda win.

BTW, I certainly blame the Bush administration for getting us into Iraq, but Bush has been gone for a very long time. Are we better or worse off in the middle east today? Demonstrably worse, and it’s perfectly reasonable to hold Obama/Clinton accountable for their own failures.
