While I completely agree with the second half of this statement, we really have stopped believing in each other. For example the majority of Trump supporters believe unregulated immigration is a bad idea, our trade treaties greatly harm small businesses and workers, and that massive levels of government regulation is hampering economic growth and killing jobs. To the left, everyone who supports Trump is a racist, and Trump himself wants to be a fascist dictator. The reality is, we aren’t listening to each other, and because we aren’t listening, both sides are assigning gross motives to the other.
