While I’ve argued many of your points, one thing I have to agree on is that Chicago is incredibly racist for a large city. I frankly, wouldn’t live there. What I blame, however, is the machine government that has existed for decades, designed and implemented ghettos where none existed, and really did try to isolate Blacks, especially all those tiny municipalities embedded in Chicago who continue to bully and harass minority residents. Why the people of Chicago keep electing crop after crop of myopic and corrupt democrat machine politicians after several decades of failure is beyond me.
I don’t have any good answers, but nothing much will change until citizens install a government that’s actually answerable to it’s citizens.
In the meantime, I welcome any attempt to make the south side of Chicago just a little bit safer than the streets of Afghanistan.
