While you see some of your conservative opponents as reasonable human beings, some of your fellow travelers view them as evil incarnate, and a few actively try to demonize them at every opportunity. All that, and you don’t think you or your party are responsible for the criminal acts of extremists on your own side?? You guys certainly believe Trump is responsible for any act of his supporters, even when they’re being baited by “protesters” who are on the DNC payroll.

On the expansion of medicaid, state legislators are keenly aware that the federal kickback they are currently being offered to expand state spending on medicaid could be cut off at will by a future president or congress. From their point of view, they’re not willing to risk funding for all state non-medicaid programs on the off chance the gravy train won’t end when Obama leaves office. Does that make them haters of poor people? I think not.
