Your observation both misses and makes the point: monopoly pricing is constrained only by what people can pay — not by the healthy forces of market competition. People living below the poverty line are paying absolutely the most that can be squeezed from them, and I am paying twice what you pay for the same service from Comcast — all because the cable companies have no competition.
