3 Quick fixes for Your Growing Baby

As a parent of a growing child, we know your main concern is to provide your child with healthy baby food. You may even want to prepare fresh baby food every day, but, the schedule may not allow you.

Below we’ve put together three quick fixes that you can prepare which are both — a super healthy and tasty.

  1. Chicken and Veggie Tex-Mexx

Ingredients:

1 medium-sized portion of chicken breast

1 cup of mix belle peppers

2 lettuce leaves

1 pinch of pepper

½ baguette

1 tablespoon oil

Butter

Salt to taste

Water to boil the chicken breast

Method:

Bring the water to boil and add the chicken breast to cook in it and add in a pinch of salt. In a pan, sauté the lengthwise cut belle peppers. Add salt and pepper to taste. On a griller, toast both the halves of the baguette, butter them and place the lettuce leaves on them. You can add yoghurt mayo to enhance the taste of the sandwich. Chicken should be done by now, drain the water and shred the chicken breast, add salt and pepper to it. Now assemble the sandwich with shredded chicken and the belle peppers, also, two slices of cheese. Viola! The lunch is fixed!

  1. Cereals!

This is as quick as cooking baby cereal or healthy baby food can get!

Ingredients:

2 cups of water

6–7 spoons of baby cereal

Fruits

Spoon and bowl

Method:

Bring drinking water to boil for 5 minutes and leave it to turn lukewarm. Into a bowl, pour in about 130 millilitres of lukewarm water into a bowl. Put in 6–7 spoons of baby cereal and stir it continuously to avoid food lumps. You can add fruits to the cereal or even some honey if your baby has a sweet tooth.

  1. Sprouts salad

½ cup sprouts

½ cup chopped fruits (pineapple, pomegranate and green apples)

½ cup chopped/grated vegetables (carrots, cucumber and beetroot)

½ lemon juice

Salt and pepper to taste

Method:

Semi-boil the sprouts. Mix the sprouts, chopped fruits and grated vegetables. Add in the juice of half a lemon and salt and pepper to taste. You can also throw in mozzarella cheese shreds or even par-boiled eggs, as per your child’s taste.
