Aloe Arborescens, Krantz Aloe or Candelabra Aloe

Perennial evergreen plant of the lily family up to 4 m high. Aloe is native to South and East Africa. People call him agave and bred as a potted flower. Aloe root system fibrous, cylindrical roots, highly branched. stems upright, branching. Leaves are alternate, xiphoid, with cartilaginous spiked along the edges, curved at the apex. leaf surface from above flat, convex below. Flowers orange, bell-shaped, tubular, on thin stalks

The healing properties of aloe have been known for over 3000 years. back. Medicinal raw materials are leaves with a length of at least 15 cm. They are cut in the winter-spring period.

Fresh leaves and juice contain anthraglycosides, resinous substances and traces of essential oils, found in a small number of enzymes, vitamins and phytoncides.

Aloe preparations have anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, choleretic, anti-burn and wound healing properties, enhance the secretion of the digestive glands, and improve appetite and digestion.

A very valuable property is the ability of aloe to increase immunoreactive capabilities and protective body functions, enhancing recovery processes in damaged tissues.

Aloe juice is taken orally for chronic gastritis, accompanied by constipation, gastric ulcer, after transferred dysentery, as well as to increase the resistance body to infectious diseases.

Juice is a nutrient mixture used in malnutrition and pulmonary tuberculosis. One stripped-off aloe juice — has long been used for chronic constipation.

Compresses with aloe juice are prescribed for dermatitis heads of radiation origin to relieve pain, tissue repair and hair growth. In the form of irrigation and lotions juice of fresh leaves is used to treat purulent wounds, trophic ulcers, burns, abscesses and boils.
