There are a number of stereotypes around strength training programs designed to burn fat, and the majority of these stereotypes focus on mass! Simply put, people assume that all forms of weightlifting involve the accumulation of large amounts of muscle to take on the size of a competitive bodybuilder.

While it is true that there are several weightlifting programs that help build significant muscle mass, there are also countless weight loss programs that serve completely different purposes.

These goals include strength improvement, injury recovery, and of course, fat loss. We will focus our attention on these fat loss training programs.

First, we need to come up with the idea of using weights to “tighten” muscles. This is a mistake because muscles cannot become toned because muscles can grow or contract with exercise but cannot take on new size. What toning really refers to is when stored fat is burned and muscle becomes more visible.

Typically, this is achieved through a slimming strength training program based on high reps when lifting low weights. For example, a person might do a strength training exercise to lose fat, such as 15 repetitions of a 5-pound dumbbell curl for 4 sets.

To complete four sets at this high rep rate will burn more calories than a person would burn lifting heavy weights for short periods of time. It’s true that you won’t build significant muscle mass with a bodybuilding program to lose fat, but that’s not the goal anyway.

What makes this type of weight loss training program the most beneficial is that although it involves lifting weights, it requires very little effort. This is because the amount of weight is too small. In fact, it’s not uncommon to drop weights and perform these types of resistance exercises with an elastic band.

In addition, it is essential to emphasize that a high number of repetitions is essential for the success of any bodybuilding program for fat loss. If you can’t do high reps with your chosen weight, please reduce the weight to a more controllable level.

High reps are at the heart of the calorie-burning process needed to execute an effective fat loss and strength training program, and they should never be compromised.

If you do such a program regularly and better yet, supplement your slimming program with a fat burning product, you will surely see fat melting faster than you think.

All it takes is a little more effort on your part.
