Additions to the Heartcore Family
We recently rebranded from Sunstone Capital to Heartcore Capital — with a mission to build category-defining consumer brands by putting founders first.
At Heartcore, we’ve been supporting extraordinary founders since 2007, with over 50 active portfolio companies across Europe. And we feel it’s an especially pivotal time to be investing in Europe’s startup ecosystem; there is no shortage of talent, innovation, and passionate founders here, pouring their hearts into building meaningful companies.
To bolster our commitment to putting founders first, always, we’re expanding Heartcore’s presence and resources in all three of our European offices — Copenhagen, Berlin, and Paris — and are proud to announce that we’ve brought on Signe Marie Sveinbjornsson as Partner in a newly established role of Chief Operating Officer (more on her role here), along with doubling the size of our partnership & adding additional support staff:
- Long-time Heartcore investor Yacine Ghalim has been promoted to Partner. Yacine has been with Heartcore since 2013, when he joined from Goldman Sachs. Initially, Yacine was recruited as an Associate and was promoted to Principal in early 2016, when we raised Fund III. Yacine has contributed tremendously to the team and we felt it was the opportune time to acknowledge his contributions by promoting him to Partner. Yacine heads our Paris office, and is especially drawn to innovative consumer brands disrupting the food & mobility space.
- Levin Bunz has joined us as an investing Partner, based in our Berlin office. Previously, Levin was a Principal and most recently a Partner with Global Founders Capital (Rocket Internet’s venture capital arm), where he was responsible for investments in Canva, Anyfin, and HeyJobs (a Heartcore Fund II portfolio company). Prior to VC investing, Levin was an early employee of Danish unicorn company Tradeshift. As a Heartcore investor, Levin is particularly drawn to companies using deep-tech for consumer applications. Outside of work, Levin is a passionate foodie.
- Yohan Pereira has joined us an investment Analyst, supporting Yacine Ghalim in our Paris office. Yohan’s has worked at analytics startup Dealroom, and most recently, at London-based seed fund, Firstminute Capital, as an analyst intern. Yohan is passionate about rap music, documentaries, and getting plenty of sleep.
- Anna Holde Bech has joined us as Executive Assistant in our Copenhagen office. Before joining Heartcore, Anna launched her own retail clothing store in Copenhagen, focused on sustainable and eco-friendly fashion.
