Worth noting that you’re not “overpaying” for a book in a brick-and-mortar bookstore — you’re paying the suggested retail price, which helps the store pay their bills, employ knowledgeable and passionate booksellers, provide exciting programming and events, etc. Amazon sells at steep discounts because they don’t need to turn a profit on books. They don’t give a damn about books, literature, passion, or community. They want to get you using their services so they can get you to buy other things.
