Moses, thank you for such a thoughtful recap! I appreciate your addition of an empowered relationship and the idea that we each grant power to a relationship. I hadn’t really thought of it that way, but that feels completely accurate. You mention above, “I often fall short and assume that people are on the same page and share the same beliefs.” I ran into that same experience this week in our team project and the realization that I was overlaying my beliefs on my team. Such a huge learning or point of awareness and was relieved a bit to see that show up for another as well!

I’m left with a bit of a looming question, what happens if others don’t fundamentally agree with the idea that structure is about developing relationships? In fact, what happens when we are working with clients where some believe this to be true, but others believe that structure is in place for delegation or control? Is this something we can teach? Can we help other people experience this? Would love your thoughts!
