Unlimited Vacation and Other Forms of Guilt-Based Management
Johnathan Nightingale

The company my husband works for has 5 weeks vacation (in the UK), but also doesn’t have a super ‘face time’ culture. So if you need to take a half day here or there to go deal with some errands or things in your personal life, you can do that and not report it as vacation. You just need to let people know you won’t be in, and make sure your work gets done still. I think it strikes a great balance between letting employees know what is appropriate but still not being really nit picky about the little things. It also allows you to ‘purchase’ an extra week of vacation as part of their benefits package.
