Ditto to making your own frosting, girl! It’s fun.
I’m starting a new job soon, but before that I’m taking a short break and heading to Philly with my husband for just a couple of days.
On the advice of a coworker, I pre-ordered our tickets to The Barnes Foundation earlier in the week. Roundtrip train tickets and our hotel room have already been paid for, too.
I’m interested in seeing some of the stuff in Independence National Historical Park, which, luckily, appears to be mostly free. $10 for random admission fees?
My husband hurt his leg a bit this morning, so it’ll likely be a car service-filled weekend, rather than the walking-filled one I originally had pictured. $30 for transportation around town, potentially? I have never been to Philadelphia, so I don’t have the best idea of how far apart everything is.
Let’s say $140 for food out, including our snacks for the train.
$30 for local knick-knacks from the shops.
Someone will inevitably forget their toothbrush or need some more Advil. $8 for any “Oh no, I forgot x” expenses.
One thing I have to constantly remind myself to get out when I’m in a hotel: cash for tipping hotel staff! $10.
$228 for the weekend.
