Podcasts I Like: A New List

I like podcasts. This post constitutes an update to the list of podcasts I keep up with. My original list from February was long. It was a little unhealthy, how long that list was. I blamed the length on my commute, which is only partially true.

The truth is, I’m involved in an invisible competition against… somebody, something, to know a lot of information. Maybe it’s Siri or even Wikipedia. Who knows. But, I realized that my long list of podcasts was probably the byproduct of that habit. I needed to be up to date. I needed to be informed.

I’m not a robot — to my knowledge. So, I trimmed the list, added a couple of new things in there, and gave myself more permission to skip around.

I came to this particular collection through an embarrassingly Marie Kondo-like approach of selecting things that truly tend to give me pleasure. (I’m also not bothering to list those that haven’t updated in a while.)

Here’s the list:

The Allusionist

Ask Me Another (Note: I went to a live taping at The Bell House for the Big Freedia episode and it was a lot of fun — I recommend going to check it out!)

Desert Island Discs

The Greatest Generation

Here’s the Thing with Alec Baldwin

The Incomparable Game Show (specifically, Low Definition episodes)

Judge John Hodgman

The Mortified Podcast

The Moth

Planet Money

Song Exploder

Spontaneanation with Paul F. Tompkins

I hope you find something you like in this list, too.
