Great article! I think this may be why the Dove campaign is so prominant. Like you said, many people just kind of mentally “skip over” these sexist ads because they are such a frequent sight. The Dove campaign, on the other hand, opposes these hegemonic ideologies of objectifying women in ads and therefore caught audiences’ attention because it is a different approach to advertising. Let’s hope that empowering ads will become the new “norm.”
