When in reality they are causing the Uber drivers to make less than they claim and taking away potential income of those same drivers.

How interesting! I did a little reasearch after reading your article and it turns out that there were two lawsuits regarding Uber not discouraging tips. Here’s a link: http://gizmodo.com/uber-you-can-tip-your-driver-but-you-really-shouldnt-1773638357
Something I would like to know is how much these drivers make without tip. Is it a small enough percentage that it only barely justifies gas costs? What happens when gas prices rise? Uber costs may increase, which might make some people less willing to tip especially if Uber says it is not required.
