The Disabled Life:What I gained.

I’ve been dwelling too long in the negative aspects of a stroke. Truth be told, I did gain some from the experience. So, here’s a list:

  1. I know who loves me and who I love.

Imagine having a magical mirror that could tell you who really cared about you? That was the stroke for me. Some people made me their mission and some people headed for the hills. And it’s ok either way because now I know where my love is justified. Being honest, it wasn’t easy being my friend in the early days, so I really don’t blame people.

2. I gained new friends.

Everywhere I go, I seem to pick up new friends. It’s picked up since I can speak intelligibly now.

3. I passed the attitude test with flying colors.

I never knew all the stuff I was capable of, until it was all tested.

Every part of me has been tested for impairment. Yes, they have found some. In the long run, strength has carried me through many times. I had no idea I was strong.

Most importantly, I have managed to keep a smile on my face and laugh my way through.

One clap, two clap, three clap, forty?

By clapping more or less, you can signal to us which stories really stand out.
