Introducing Ms. Nory Rojas
If you had a question about the Pre-K program over the summer, chances are you spoke with the wonderful Ms. Nory Rojas! HECAC would like to formally welcome Ms. Nory Rojas, who has stepped into the role of the Community and Parent Involvement Specialist (CPIS) for the Early Childhood Education Program.
Ms. Rojas holds a BA in Sociology from New Jersey City University and is currently pursuing a Masters Degree in Child Advocacy & Policy from Montclair State University in Montclair, NJ. Ms. Rojas has always wanted to become a teacher but also loved to help people in need. She changed her career in college in order to dedicate her work to social services. As the new CPIS, she gets the best of both worlds. She gets to help families and children, as well as the larger Hoboken community.
Ms. Rojas has dedicated the last 7 years to serving Hoboken. She has worked as a family advocate, a site supervisor for a private preschool provider, a program supervisor, and most recently as a confidential preschool operations coordinator. While this title may sound very mysterious due to the “confidential” part, it simply means that Nory did all things to support the Pre-K program though her passionate advocacy and keen attention to detail.
Nory’s favorite part of working in the Pre-K program has always been the children and families in this community. She shares how the families here in Hoboken are so involved and the children are incredibly loving. Ms. Rojas brings a warm spirit and sense of service to her position, giving children high-fives and referring to everyone as “my love”. She is very grateful to be a part of the Early Childhood Education program and for the warm welcome she has received as the new CPIS.
