VectorDrawable Adaptive Icons
Ian Lake

Regarding round icons, does this statement imply roundIcon will override icon for all launcher mask types (i.e. circle, square, squircle, rounded corners, and teardrop)?

Devices with round masks will use your custom roundIcon if available

I’m wondering if it’s possible to include roundIcon to use a different icon only for the circle mask type and icon for all other mask types. From the Adaptive Icons documentation quoted below, it seems possible, but I’m unable to get that behavior using Pixel Launcher and roundIcon with adaptive, vector, or raster resources.

You can also define an icon drawable resource using the android:roundIcon attribute. You must only use the android:roundIcon attribute if you require a different icon asset for circular masks, if for example the branding of your logo relies on a circular shape.
