On one side we have all the well intentioned folks screaming that we need to get rid of all the guns. On the other side we have all the gun owners saying “you’ll pry them from my cold dead hands.” Am I exaggerating? I don’t think so. This is how people feel about this issue.
Who is helping bridge the gap? I submit that articles like this are not helping. No offense intended. But you either agree with this view point, or you don’t. I do not think anyone will change their mind after reading this stuff. In my opinion, this writing style is a waste of great talent that could otherwise be helping us bridge the gap.
I think U.S. legislators are trying to make a difference where they can. Gun control historically gets nowhere. If you talk of banning all guns you might as well just not talk. It will not happen like that. Let’s discuss small steps that respects both sides. Think of it like getting to Mars. We can’t just yell at everyone to go to Mars. We have to keep working at it.
