Advertise with us Revamp
A fresh new look and it is built for future interactions.

What is Advertise with us?
Advertise with is a Platform for Owners who post (list) their property on Magicbricks for selling or renting purposes. This page provides Premium Services which will help owners to sell/rent their property fast and without any hassle.
So what’s the change? But before that let’s discuss why the change?
The previous page in place was designed 5 years ago and in that time, technology has boomed at a thunder scale. The way people interact with the platform has changed a lot. With the enhancement in technology, users have become more expectant of a superior experience as well. Nowadays several tracking mechanisms are available to trace the user journey through the website/Mobile app and leverage it to create a more personalized and user-centric environment.
So, it was about time Magicbricks had also transformed itself in sync with the new-age user needs and modern UI/UX design philosophy.
Real Estate is inching towards smart technologies like Augmented Reality/Virtual Reality for its services to attract users towards them. Simply put, if you want more users on your platform you have to offer something which your competition is not offering or you have more benefits to sell.
Now, what’s new in the latest Advertise with us design version?
According to the data we acquired from moderated in-person usability testing and backend provided data, it was clear that 75–80% of our users preferred the website and the remaining users were on the mobile site and app.
Taking about the basic nature and requirements of the target audience, we have no such owners who use the platform daily. Selling/ renting a property is a once in years thing for people, so there were very few users who downloaded the mobile app just for a single-use.
Keeping in mind the data, I started with the Website revamp in the initial round and then adapted the website to the mobile site and the app.
The Problem:
According to the current design, it neither provides great user experience nor aesthetic pleasure. Lack of hierarchy in the flow and unclear call to actions. It takes a much longer process to buy a package than expected. I needed to increase user interactions on the page. It was not serving the expected business demands.
Design Process followed:
>Understanding the present scenarios and pain points
> Evaluating existing website based on the Heuristic principles
> Improving task flow and Information architecture
> Wireframes based on new information architecture
> UI based on new wireframes keeping in mind all the brand guidelines
User Study:
Users: Mainly Indian citizens who own a property(commercial or residential) and want to sell or rent it.
Task: To buy a package to get premium services which will help to rent/sell the listing faster.
Environment: Website or Mobile
User Interviews:
We took about 13–15 Moderate in-person interviews to know the problems clearly and get the generalized thought process of the user.
Question asked/ Tasks performed:
- Which platform you generally use to operate Magicbricks?
- Let’s take an activity, Please buy a package from the website/ mobile app.
- What if you want to buy more than one package in a go? How convenient it is to do it?
- What do you think of Go to the cart button?
- What is more preferable, Getting a callback or Doing it yourself?
User’s Pain points:
- Grid is too long and the user has to go to and fro for reading the simple description.
- Buy Now CTA should take the users to the payment page but for now, it is taking the users to the product description page and the users were irritated by this. It took much effort to buy a simple package.
- What if the User wants to buy more than one package in a go? There was no option like “add to cart” here. Then what was the purpose of Go to the cart button on the page?
- Currently, every CTA on the page lands on the Product description page but names are unexpectedly different from the functionality of the CTA.
- Design is outdated and cluttered.
- Poor visibility of the main features
Solution:
- Adding personalization for the User
- Rich and clean Visual elements
- Quick actions and Better hierarchy
- Introducing the new “Add to cart” button
- Content correction for a better and personalized experience
- CTAs clearly describe the functionality
- 3-click payment flow
- Removed the “Request a callback form” from the right corner and introduced a button to reach the form at the bottom of the page by an easy click.
- Created end to end tabs for Standard ads, Assisted selling, Till you sell and more services
- Introduced a Toggle for “card view” and “grid view” which will help users to compare packages
- Created a special column for Special packages so that users shouldn’t miss it while scrolling down.
- Added iconography for value-added packages to make a greater impact.
Final Design:

Challenges Faced
- Most of the Owners were not tech-savvy, which created a hindrance. To make the app work for them I designed it in a way that they can use it easily and very less clicks will be needed to reach the final page. The payment options are on the cart/product review page itself which will help the users to get the package payment details upfront.
- Earlier there were fewer organic users visiting these pages themselves. The click rate of the pages has increased to 70% now as I kept the cart button upfront on the page.
I created a prototype from the designs and tested them with users(Commercial and Residential sellers). The feedback we received was highly positive.
Bridging the gap between the user and business is a great responsibility in itself and it feels good when we try to design something to solve those problems. Sometimes a little tweak can do wonders. That’s the beauty of working in the design industry and reading people’s actions.
