March 8 and 9, I was honored to be a delegate to join the launch of the Decade of Women initiative, stewarded by the Fifth Element Group, Thomson Reuters, the United Nations, SCN Network, and more. This revolutionary campaign kicked off by bringing together top global influencers committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion. We cannot solve humanity’s great challenges when half the world’s population and collective genius are undervalued and often excluded because of gender. And goodness knows we don’t stand a chance of solving these challenges if business is not doing its part, consciously and intentionally, backed by real action.

The Decade of Women is setting a clear course to deliver gender equity and full economic engagement for all women and girls by 2030, in alignment with UN Sustainable Development Goal #5. Five exceptional leaders were recognized and celebrated with the inaugural “Quantum Impact Awards,” for outstanding achievement in global action at the intersection of women’s leadership and voice and directing frontier technology to transformation towards the Sustainable Development Goals. The launch was celebrated across eight billboards in Times Square and the campaign is now live at www.decadeofwomen.org. It is bringing forth a decade-long series of bold commitments and actions, starting with the #WeUniteWe Pledge:

• #WeUniteWe to declare The Decade Of Women as the galvanizing idea for a decade long series of bold commitments to set humanity on track to complete the equity revolution.
• #WeUniteWe to commit to large-scale and systemic action to achieve full gender equity and economic engagement for all women and girls by 2030, in fulfillment of UN SDG #5.
• #WeUniteWe to make public our commitments to support full gender equity and economic engagement for all women and girls — both within our companies and organizations and in our work in the world.
• #WeUniteWe to embrace diversity and inclusion by celebrating individual differences as strength.
• #WeUniteWe to set a new bar establishing that the time of incrementalism is over and that equity is essential for our global economy and the future of humanity.

I was interviewed about my work and inspiration behind it by SCN Network, one of the partners.
