From Cron to Notion
Notion Has Finally It’s Own Calendar App And It Is Really Great
Notion just introduced its own calendar, and it’s pretty exciting. However, it’s not an entirely new calendar; it’s Cron, one of the best calendar apps from the past two years. Cron gained popularity for its excellent design, user-friendly interface, and innovative features. Rip, Cron.
So, what’s different? The name is new (although the integration between Cron and Notion has grown over the past 12 months), there’s a fresh app icon (featuring today’s date on MacOS), and a slightly revamped design to align Notion Calendar with the overall Notion aesthetic. Sadly the amazing orange Cron logo on a black app canvas is now gone.
On the positive side, this change brings in a bunch of new features, more users will likely adopt the calendar app, and there’s assurance of ongoing development.
I still recall the early days when Cron was in beta, and it was a challenge to get in due to a massive waitlist. On one day I just reached out to Raphael Schaad and Cron on Twitter, expressing my interest. Less than 24 hours later, Raphael sent me an invitation. This kind of responsiveness and user care creates a positive vibe around the product! Kudos!
