How Coffee Connects Businesses to Brisbane Locals
With the never-ending bombardment of advertisements that consumers are exposed to on a daily basis — it is not uncommon for consumers to either disregard or possibly miss the advertisements placed at the bottom of the website or even blatantly on the doors of bathroom stalls.
This creates a barrier for businesses hoping to increase exposure and connect with their target audience.
Cofounders of Happy Dinosaur, Kelvin Leung, Larry Ip and Tracy Au-Yeung have creatively discovered a better and more effective way to cut to the chase and reach their audience directly during their daily ‘cup of joe’. In November of 2017 — these coffee enthusiasts decided to launch Happy Dinosaur in hopes to establish a disruptive advertising strategy to change the traditional print ad market. Their contract-free concept would make targeted print advertising a lot more affordable than other traditional print media and allow marketing to be put into the consumer’s hands.
So, How Does All This Work?
Think of this as like the ‘Instagram’ of coffee-cup advertising. Happy Dinosaur has started to reach the marketing goals of businesses by their Instagram grid-like execution of featuring multiple local businesses around the circumference of coffee cups.
The start-up went through a successful first run in late March of this year when they distributed their batch of advertisement coffee cups to several cafes and restaurants in the Brisbane area such as The Phat Pantry, Papparoti, Woofissimo and The Espresso Hut. The turn-out was successful as anticipated.
