Thank you so much for your words — and how amazing to hear about your project! I’m always inspired when I hear from people who are seeking to help others by utilizing self-discovered channels — I automatically assume that they must be seeing the world through a similar prism as I. People often ask why I don’t become a psychologist, and I hate having to tell them that the vast majority of people I speak to actually have psychologists and psychiatrists and medical professionals that they speak to regularly. Something isn’t working.

As for my parents: shortly after I published this article back in November, I got them a bottle of wine, printed it out for them, and handed it to them. You’re right: they’re very proud. But they are also very worried, and that weighs me down. I often meet strangers in coffee shops, and I know that the thought of her only daughter going out into the world to do a project that could potentially become dangerous keeps my mom awake. But, I suppose it’s better that they know.
