Market Research

Closer shave is a male barber shop, it is based down a small alley that people can’t find very easily. I have done some research into other barber companies in the city to see what their websites are offering and how we could make ours stand out from the crowd.

Above are the 3 barber shops I found locally, they all have amazing websites, and they all follow the same design, the scrolling page. The only difference is one has a video playing from the background, which does take a little longer to load, but it does put them apart from the other sites.

What I will take with me to the site I will be doing is the scrolling page design, they all also have a version of the interactive map the client wishes to have in his site, we will also do this.

Kingways
Launceston Barber

Only one has social media in their site, this is only a small Facebook button found on the top right of Launceston Barber, the other 2 sites do not have any social media obvious on their sites.

Overall, the sites are a good starting point for our designs, we want to fall in line with the competitors and just pip them with something they all don’t have which will stand Close Shave above the competition.
