The Story:
Sokka and his younger sister, Katara, the last Waterbender from South Water Tribe gonna fishing but end up waking up the young Avatar, Aang. He was captured by Zuko, the Prince of Fire Nation, but able to escape and went to his empty hometown. In their journey, they captured by Fire Nation’s soldiers and brought to the Earth Kingdom village.
Aang need to learn other elements to complete his training to be an Avatar. First, he learn the Water bending and go to North Water Tribe. He lured by a monk and captured by the General of Fire Nation. He saved by a masked man that turned out to be Zuko. The North Water Tribe led by a princess and she let Aang learn the Water bending from a master there. While they were there, General Zhao chasing them with a lot of warships.
Aang went meditate in North Tribe’s sacred place to go to the spirited world. The North Tribe attacked by General Zhao. He killed one of the fish from the sacred place. Princess Yue collapsed and make the Water tribe weak. The moon spirit gave a life to Princess Yue when she was young and this time, she gave her life back and the moon back to normal.
General Iroh and Zuko fight General Zhao. They escaped, but General Zhao killed. Aang fight along the Water benders, chase away the Fire Nation’s warships and soldiers in his Avatar’s state. Both the leftover Fire Nation’s soldiers and Water Nation’s people want Aang to be their Avatar. This movie end with the King of Fire Nation delegate his daughter to take down Aang before he learn Earth and Fire element.
Review:
The graphic is so good especially when they use the Water bending skill, the water really move smoothly. I can see the character Aang didn’t believe in himself, ran away, but in his journey, he found back his original mission to save all of the nation and bring back the balance into the world. The journey to be an avatar is not an easy way for a boy like Aang, but it made him stronger and get respect from a lot of people.
Sokka and Katara never leave Aang alone. This movie also tell us about the true friendship, love, trust, respect, and many more. Avatar be destined to be alone, but Aang is different. He got the respect not only from the children, but also from the elders and Zuko, who always try to capture him. I watch the anime and this movie’s story similar with it, so I hope they can continue until the end like the original.
