Should College Be Giving Us More for Our Money?

I worry about this. I started school at a big state university since I didn’t get into the small liberal arts college I had my heart set on. I dropped out a year later because I was totally overwhelmed and wasn’t able to get support from my overworked advisor.

I went to work and after a few years found a job that led to a career. I didn’t need a degree to get to where I am now but I need one to move past this point.

Instead I am leaving my career and going back to school full time to study a different field altogether. I decided that I don’t want to put the time and money into advancing in a field that I don’t dislike but can’t see working in for the next 35 years.

Tomorrow’s my last day at work and in a week I start college again at 35 years old. I’m in good shape financially but worry that will change and I’ll have to take out more loans than expected.
