My old company did a lot of work with Schwab. They (Schwab, not my company) offered paid sabbaticals every few years for full time employees in addition to regular vacation and sick time. I think it was a month every four or five years. I knew several people who had been there long enough to take multiple sabbaticals and their coworkers were always excited for them when one was coming up. I would feel more comfortable taking something like that rather than dealing with a vague unlimited PTO policy.
