The heat mostly won this weekend. I estimated around $150 and spent about $106.

I headed out on Friday to run my errands and realized that I forgot the duvet cover. I went to the pharmacy to pick up a prescription, $25, and then stopped in Target to get a card and bag rather than go to CVS. I also bought fruit and frozen desserts (the only groceries I’ve decided I need for now), $75. I spent $6 at Taco Bell and headed back home. Taco Bell has terrible iced tea. I decided to just email the upholstery shop and skipped the chiropractor.

Saturday I thought about going to the dry cleaner and the chiropractor and decided not to. (I’m going this morning, my back is killing me.) Mom picked me up and we went to Grandma’s for my niece’s birthday. It was fun and the birthday girl got quite the haul, including three new Monster High dolls. My cousin mentioned that she and her boyfriend were going out for Cajun food after and invited us all the join them. Apparently the best Cajun food in the valley is in a strip mall in Mesa. Mom covered my share and accidentally took home my leftovers. If it had been my gumbo I would have gone over and gotten it back.

On Sunday my friend didn’t text me back about brunch until the afternoon so I stayed in and worked on an assignment.

I did get a quote back from the upholsterer. $375 plus fabric, which is at the high end of the range I was expecting but there is some frame damage. Mom said she’ll count it as my birthday and Christmas gift. Considering that last Christmas she got me a giant purse embroidered with a sugar skull and featuring a concealed carry pocket I’m ok with this.
