Tammie Siew, Investment Team, Sequoia Capital

Tammie Siew is part of the investment team at Sequoia Capital India in the Singapore office, focusing on the Southeast Asia market. Before joining Sequoia, she worked in the Boston Consulting Group for several years across Southeast Asia, working on digital transformation projects as well as supporting clients in launching new digital ventures.

Sequoia Capital is a firm invests in both public and private companies. It specializes in incubation, seed stage, startup stage, early stage, and growth stage investments in private companies.

Sequoia Capital has invested in over 250 companies since 1972, including Apple, Google, Oracle, PayPal, Stripe, YouTube, Instagram, Yahoo! and WhatsApp. The combined current public market value for these companies is over $1.4 trillion, equivalent to 22 percent of Nasdaq. Its portfolio is mainly in financial services, healthcare, outsourcing, and technology. As of 2017, they have exited in 68 initial public offerings and 203 acquisitions.

Tammie will talk about how to raise fund for startups, based on her experience in investment. Through this session, founders will learn about what should they understand before seeking to raise capital and how to find investors that will match with them.
