UX Rational: TikTok
App Name: TikTok
TikTok is a short video (15 seconds to 3 minutes) sharing app. Right now (17th Aug 2021) TikTok is the number 1 app in this world. It has 689M active user right now. TikTok is a Chinese app. In China, TikTok called Douyin. Zhang Yiming is the founder of TikTok and ByteDance is the parent company. In TikTok, various types of short video are uploaded like comedy, dance, education and others.

Goal/Why:
TikTok is the most popular for sharing short-form mobile video and TikTok’s goal is to inspire creativity and bring joy of people and their life. This platform is for creative people and express/share their skill/creativity/show via short videos.
User: TikTok mainly uses young people. They love to share their video in this platform.
Problems: Here is some problems which I found by using i:
1. TikTok is so much addictive.
2. It doesn’t have any ending point. You just scroll down and videos are constantly came in front of you. It is a time waster app I have ever seen.
3. Size of TikTok app is 88MB. Which is quite large.
4. TikTok goal is inspire creativity but after sometimes I am using it, I felt that — they destroy young age’s people’s valuable time. They just make random videos.
5. Most of the BD TikTok users make bad/random unnecessary videos but in TikTok there is many good videos too. Just search by your keyword. Like, I searched UI UX and found some tips and tricks videos. So TikTok is not the problem, content creator is the problem.
Possible Solutions:
1. TikTok can make a time limit system. Like they can make per user doesn’t use not more than 50/60 minutes per day.
2. Make a page layout system. So that people can realize how much time they used it.
3. Run a survey among the users. Then based on the survey result, they can reduce some features.
4. Make filter options and check which is good for the societies and all the peoples of the world.
5. Inspire that type of videos which is good for the people. Maybe they can design their algorithm to promote good videos. So that people changes their video topics.
UI: TikTok uses red color. But this is not fully red. This red means creativity, joy, happiness. I think they perfectly use color in their app. But one suggestion is, if they make page layout system then that will be good for the user who concern about their time.
What I learn:
1. People love to show spread creativity.
2. But when you use this app, you will observe that — a large number of young ages, waste their valuable time.
3. In Bangladesh region, TikTok is most usely by less educated people and produce unproductive content.
