The Variety Boys & Girls Club of Queens is an organization that allows all kids from all backgrounds to realize their fullest potentials. Founded in 1955 in Astoria, Queens, the VBGCQ has gotten children off the streets and into safe, inclusive and supportive environments that guide them towards a successful future. The importance of this organization is undeniable — 97% of club teens expect to graduate from high school, and 88% expect to complete further education. The resources provided by the VBGCQ promote confidence, expose skill interest and pave the way for well-rounded success despite socioeconomic disadvantages.
The Boys and Girls Club is hugely important. Our children are the future, and they need our support. Partnering with the Boys and Girls Club in our hometown of Astoria, the neighborhood in which Bareburger was born, is a no-brainer. In our newest collaboration, Bareburger x VBGCQ brings you a custom-made burger that we have dubbed ‘The Variety Burger’. Bareburger Culinary Director, Chef Lemon created this vegetarian beauty. On a vrioche (vegan brioche) bun delicately smeared with garlic aioli, we have stacked a sweet potato patty, tempeh bacon, tomato, red onion, alfalfa sprouts and pickled jalapeños. A quick drizzle of sriracha honey dressing finishes this baby off. For each Variety Burger you buy (a worthwhile $13.95), we’ll donate a dollar to the VBGCQ.
It’s that easy (and remarkably delicious). The Variety Burger represents a new future — environmentally friendly by way of plant-based ingredients, melodic diversity by way of flavors, colors and textures. Your support means the world.
Enjoy the Variety Burger at every Bareburger location. If you can’t make it, but still want to make a difference, donate directly to the VBGCQ here. Love you.
